Our Staff

Phil.jpeg
Dr Phillip Sharman (Practice Owner)

Phil joined Casino Veterinary Clinic soon after graduating in 1987, when it was a small three-vet practice with a heavy focus on cattle.

He spent two years in England (1991–1992) working with horses and dairy cattle before returning to the clinic.

In 1997, Phil filled in as the District Vet for Casino’s Rural Lands Protection Board, then bought the practice in 1998. Along with his wife Linda, he designed and built the surgery we use today, officially opening it in 2000.

Phil loves all things cattle and surgery. Outside the clinic, he enjoys following the Queensland Reds (and dreaming of Wallabies glory!), spending time with his two Labradors, Pip and Pop, and cherishing his two daughters.

Dr Jai Gardner

Jai joined our team in March 2023 after graduating from Charles Sturt University in 2020.

He’s a highly skilled vet, especially equine medicine including reproduction.

Jai splits his time between the clinic and helping manage the family dairy. At home, he lives with his partner (also a vet) and their dogs — Wilma and his true number one, Border Collie Boots.

When he’s not working, Jai loves rugby union, adventurous activities like fishing, camping, motorbiking, hiking, and spending time outdoors.

Dr Nick Wimble

Nick returned to Casino Vet Clinic in 2023 after gaining years of experience in mixed practice, surgery, and as a locum across Australia.

He is passionate about emergency and critical care and he even manages to fill in as an emergency vet at North Coast Emergency Clinic.

Outside of work, Nick loves the outdoors, the surf, running with his partner and their 8-year-old Aussie Shepherd, Zena.

She’s passionate about large animal work, emergency care, however when our goat & alpaca patients come in they make her day.

At home, Lisa’s keeps busy managing her small farm with her husband and their two gorgeous girls and their Aussie Shepherd mix, Freddy (pictured here)

Korina - Junior Veterinary Nurse

Korina’s one of our junior vet nurses with a big heart and plenty of large-animal experience. She’s spent many years assisting horse studs during foaling season and loves getting out on farm calls — but she’s just as quick to jump in for puppy cuddles

On the weekends Korina spends her time camp drafting and chasing after her two daughters.
